What is quartz ?

Quartz is the fourth hardest material found in nature. Made of 93% Quartz, Eurostone surfaces offer extreme strength, almost zero porosity and many other features far superior to Granite or Marble.

What are the advantages over Granite or Marble?

Eurostone is harder and more flexible than Granite making it resistant to scratches and cracks. Its low porosity makes it resistant to most food stains including wine, coffee, juices etc. It also reduces the potential for bacterial and mold growth, making it ideal for a food preparation surface. Because of color consistency, its easier to buy from a sample without having to visit a slab yard.

Why should I choose Eurostone over its competition?

All European Quartz companies offer a similar quality. What sets Eurostone apart is the color selection which comes in 5 different finishes — Gloss (polished), Grain (honed), Rocface (textured with waves), Rocplan (textured no waves), and Jaipur (leather). Eurostone is also among few companies that offer matching tile.

Does Eurostone need to be sealed?

The Polished finish is non-porous, so it never has to be sealed. However, because the Honed and Textured finishes need more maintenance, it is recommended that they are sealed periodically to minimize this issue.

Can I cut on my Eurostone Counter?

Although Eurostone is scratch-resistant, it is not scratch proof. Always use a cutting board.

How does Eurostone withstand heat?

Eurostone is heat resistant and reacts similarly to other stones. However, sudden extreme and prolonged heat can cause thermal shock which may result in a crack or discoloration. Therefore, the use of trivets is always recommended. Do not transfer hot cookware directly from the oven onto the countertop. Electrical cooking appliances can overheat and cause similar problems.

How do I clean my Eurostone Surface?

The polished surface is practically maintenance-free. A damp cloth and a mild detergent are all that is required. The Honed and Textured finishes require more maintenance. Stubborn spills will easily clean with common non-abrasive household cleaners such as Soft Scrub Gel with bleach on a soft cloth, rinsing with water to remove any residue. Pure Acetone or Chlorine bleach can also be used to clean pigment stains. Do not use abrasive pads or cleaners as you may dull the surface or leave scratch marks on the Grain and Rocface finishes.

What chemicals should I avoid?

Chemicals with PH levels below 5 and above 8 can cause damage to the surface. Examples are oven grill cleaners, floor strippers, toilet bowl cleaners, paint and varnish removers, furniture cleaners, drain products, etc. If your surface is accidentally exposed to any of these products, rinse immediately with water to neutralize the effect.

Does Eurostone offer a warranty?

Yes, Eurostone offers a 10-year residential warranty slab and a 1-year commercial warranty details of which can be viewed under customer service.

Can I use Eurostone outdoors?

There is no warranty for outdoor use. However many customers have used Eurostone outdoors for BBQ area etc. There is a danger of slight discoloration more prominent in the darker colors. Light colors in the Honed and Textured or finishes tend to perform better.
